This weekend was full of plain ol' F-U-N.
Bug's first trip to Santa Monica Pier.
She was pretty unsure about the sand...
...and the water.
She could not take her eyes away from the water. Maybe the roaring sound of the waves freaked her out. If I was that little, it might have the same affect on me too!
Itty bitty feet in some sand.
Not okay.
Daddy caught Mommy lovin' on Bug. :) I can smoosh her face because it's smooshable. She likes it.
The only problem with our trip to Santa Monica Pier- forgot to bring a rubber band. By the end of the day, my hair was HUGE from the weather. So please excuse the upcoming photos.
Tangent: On Friday I woke up and decided that after almost two years of no haircuts, I would chop off my hair. It has become impossible to contain and I've been afraid of cutting it off because it takes forever to maintain and with a new baby, that was the last thing on my list. Well, now that Bug is officially 7 months, she's given me the courage (and time!) to fix my hair. You'd think this wouldn't be that exciting, but for a new mommy who hasn't fixed her hair and has been wearing a ponytail for 7 months and is unaccustomed to putting her hair last, this was exciting. It was last minute, but I spent all Friday morning calling hair salons to get an appointment for THAT day. There was no way I was putting up with all the hair any longer! By the time the cut was done, it was as though there was a dead animal on the ground. I had cut off almost 7 inches!!! This hair cut was exactly what I needed. I was feeling like I was in a new mommy rut and then realized that to feel good, I had to make the effort to take care of myself (even with something as simple as a hair cut). It did it's job because today, as I'm writing this, I'm wearing slacks and a nice top. This hasn't happened in awhile! Last night, I ironed all my pre-pregnancy slacks, blouses, and sweaters for the week. I sure feel motivated to keep looking good...7 months later...30 lbs less, and with a brand new hair cut! Let's pray that I continue this effort in the midst of "The Bug". And I'm sure that the hubs is pretty darn tired coming home every night to see me with pureed food all over my shirt, in my hair, and on my arms. Ha! Oh, the things that a new baby does to your marriage. Hahaha.

Because of day light's savings time, we had a "late" wake up call. Check out this tired girl. Okay, so she's not so tired. Too much movement!
We sleep at the end of the crib, the short way. How does Bug manage to rotate a thousand times, up and down her crib? It's nuts how much she moves in her sleep! She's so hyper...even in sleep! I'm beginning to think she never quite falls into a deep sleep...EVER.
After church, we had some fun times with Tita Ingrid, Tita Nara, Tito Peter, and Uncle Phillip!
Never has a girl been so in love with accessories. Bug spent a whole lot of time trying to figure out how to steal Tita Nara's bracelets, watch, and necklace.
Flirting with Uncle Phillip, who is sitting across the table.
Totally remembering the day their eyes first met at the hospital when Bug was almost a day old.
Yes, Bug...Tita Nara has hands too. Hands are still an interesting thing to Bug. She is becoming an expert at grabbing things- slowly pushing an object with one hand toward another object so she can lift it. Yaay! She has some pretty awesome critical thinking skills. Look at that look of deep thought on her face! This face is an every moment kind of thing. Everything to Bug is a big deal and requires her to think about how something happens. She can't let it go until she figures it out and sometimes even becomes angry when she can't. Hmm...she is the daughter of an engineer after all. I think I'm in for a lot of questions from this girl...with possibly very minimal answers. :/ This could be a possible Parental FAIL.
Bug and her two Titas.
First high chair use...EVER. We had to load all her friends in there to keep her busy. It didn't work because less than five minutes later she was out of it.
Just for fun we've got some early morning reading pics from last week.
Fun fact: Bug is now a HUGE fan of Peek-a-Boo. This is probably because now she realizes things don't just disappear and that there is such a thing as "behind" and "under". What a smart cookie! So she spends a lot of time bending down looking under things, as well as looking over your shoulder for what's behind you. She even tries to anticipate where you're going to pop up from. Playing games with her is getting so much more fun every single day! It makes skipping making home made meals worthwhile. :)
God Bless,
Kat
