Buggy Video Update

I know, you're all missing some Buggy.  So, here she is! Someone has learned to feed herself and get all her food in her mouth instead of on her lap! She has also gotten really good at taking care of her baby. I'm hoping these videos will hold you over until I can get myself together to write a real blog post. :) God Bless, Kat

Meltdown Over Ice Cream

Someone had a slight meltdown on Valentine's Day when we went out for ice cream.  Well, the meltdown occurred when we tried to leave the store.  :/ Staring and crying at the ice cream shop door. Happy Valentine's Day to you too! :) Random pics: Buggy in the headband I made for her a very long time ago.  Why does she look like such a big girl here? :( Making a birthday card for Mama. Hanging out, balancing the checkbook.  Bug's got the calculator and Daddy's writing it all down. :) God Bless, Kat

The real chili potluck.

The other day the hubs told me he volunteered to bring chili to work for his office's annual chili potluck.  I assumed he volunteered me because I have never seen the hubs cook anything from scratch.  So yesterday I looked up some recipes I could tweak to make my own and found one with a review that read... "My husband has been making this recipe for his work's chili contest for 13 years and has won every year." How could I not try it after reading that review?  Now, I LOVE chili.  That's precisely the reason I don't attempt to make it because as we all know, it is very hard to make a good, thick chili with just enough spice and kick.  After some moaning about adding another not-so-necessary task to my "to do" list, I suddenly felt up to the challenge.  So here it is... It's meaty- a man's chili. Check out the spices, folks.  Mmmm... Stirring the spices into the tomato paste is about all he "volunteered...

Before we get to it...

Before we get to the longest picture summary of this weekend's activities, look what I found when I came home on Friday after work. We have been introducing the potty for a month or so now and Bug finally understands that you cannot leave the potty until you actually go in it.  Unfortunately, she is enforcing that policy on these two, who remained on that potty from the moment Bug placed them on it before she left for day care that morning, until I got home.  Hey, at least she understands.  Hahaha.  Since Bug follows me to the bathroom to check out how it's done, I've introduced her to a potty song, written by yours truly.  It's awesome.  Don't be jealous you don't know it.  She's finally got the idea that we only sing it when you actually use the potty.  :)  Potty training is by far the most intimidating task on the parental "to do" list.  I'm fearfully up to the challenge!  Let's do it! On Saturday, had an early BBQ celeb...

Valentine's Day too soon?

Happy Valentine's Day!  I love this holiday.  I don't care whether or not people feel like it's commercialized.  I love any reason to celebrate those you love!  Tuesday night the hubs came home with the following: Confused, I asked if he knew that Valentine's Day was on Thursday.  He responded, "Yes, but I can't guarantee I'll get off work in time to get to the store for there to be anything left."  Alright.  He won that one. A little Bug even got a new toy from Daddy for Valentine's Day.  Meet the newest addition to Bug's stuffed toy collection, "Peng-win."  I'm pretty sure he and Duck are going to be best friends. Last night was also Ash Wednesday.  So we headed to church to kick off Lent!  What better way to recognize the love we have for each other, than going to church to recognize the love God has for us.  After all...we can love each other only because he loved us, right? When we got h...
