Who says God doesn't answer prayers?

This week (well, yesterday), Wyatt got called in to do his American duty- jury duty.  As we left the house today, he asked me for a pad of paper.  Here's how the conversation went... Wyatt:  "Babe, where's the pad of paper?" Me:  "In the box, why?" Wyatt:  "Well, I need something to take notes on." Me:  "Did they ask you to take a pad of paper?  Don't they provide that for you?" Wyatt:  "I don't know, but I wanna be prepared." Before Wyatt even got to the court house the other day, I knew that he would be chosen.  How could he not be?  He's the PERFECT candidate for a jury.  I'm sure he thought of a million ways he could get out of it...a million reasons why he just couldn't serve on a jury- his wife is pregnant- NO, he needs to work- NO, there's not much work at work....nope, nada...no reasons. Because there's not much work coming in, Wyatt's been coming home early, which means...l...

Baby D-to-be photo #1 and #2

This is a bit late, but better late than never...right?  :) This was the first ultrasound picture.  He/she is there and when I saw it on the screen, it's little heart was beating so fast! THIS, is the second picture about two weeks later...you know, the one that the doctor could barely get because the baby wouldn't stay still long enough for her to take measurements?  Yeah...this is it.  I told you it was unclear.  The only thing you can make out is a very LARGE head. We go in again on February 2nd for another ultrasound with a tech and hopefully we'll get some real measurements then.  Wish us luck!  This baby is definitely our's...already making life just a tad bit difficult "interesting".  :)  Judging from how active this baby is inside the tummy (so the doctor says because I can't feel anything yet), Wyatt and I are sure to be in for some fun adventures in parenthood.  We can't wait! God Bless, Kat

The first of many

This weekend, while looking for a two bedroom apartment, the following conversation took place... Daddy-to-be:  "So babe, how's this gonna work?" Me:  "How's what gonna work?" Daddy-to-be:  "Well, if a newborn gets up every 2-3 hours to feed and/or change, are we gonna take turns every other night or every other time the baby gets up every night?" Me:  "I'm guessing every other time the baby gets up." Daddy-to-be:  "Oh...well, should we get an alarm that goes off every two hours?" Me:  "Huh?  No." Daddy-to-be:  "Then how will we know when to wake the baby up?" Me:  [Flash forward to a mental picture of Wyatt waking the baby up every 2 hours while it's sleeping.]  [LAUGHTER]  "You won't need an alarm clock, babe.  The baby is your alarm clock.  He/she will let you know if it needs to be fed or changed.  Daddy-to-be: "Oh, really?  Okay." Me:  "Babe...I'm g...

Oh boy, oh boy...or girl!

We’ve been pretty M.I.A. (missing in action) for awhile, but I don’t want you to think that we’ve been up to nothing (not that anyone was wondering why). Quite the contrary, we’ve been pretty busy spreading some news to our family (and now to all of you!). WE ARE HAVING A BABY! That’s right! Wyatt and I are bringing a baby into this world. We were blessed with the good news right before Christmas and were able to share the joy with our families over the holidays. The doctor says we're about 10-12 weeks along.  We’re not exactly sure how far along we are because this little kid just doesn’t want to make him/herself completely visible long enough during ultrasounds for the doctor to take measurements. So, we’ll try again in another two weeks to get an exact due date. Get ready, folks! It’s going to be a GREAT year! Oh boy, oh boy…or girl! God Bless, Kat

Holiday 2010 Photos by Lukas VanDyke

For our holiday cards, we were fortunate enough to schedule a session with our wonderful wedding photographer.  I know they're late, but you can enjoy them post-holiday anyway. :) We hope your holiday season went as well as our's and that you are all blessed with all you deserve this coming year! God Bless, Kat

The new Mr. & Mrs. M

New Years day, Wyatt and I attended a wedding for Kimi & Seth at Padua Hills Theatre in Claremont, CA.  What an amazing way to start the new year!  Congrats to the lovely couple, who I never got a picture of together because 1-I forgot my camera and 2-They were too busy socializing apart from one another. :) The girls with the new Mrs. M!  "Sorority pose!" Aside from the chilly weather (which I should still be thankful for considering it had been pouring rain for days), it was a great day celebrating old friends and new beginnings.  ::sigh::  "Another one bites the dust..."
