I know, I know...

Where are those Thanksgiving memories?  Still on the computer.  Hopefully I'll have them in a post by tonight or tomorrow.  For now, just a few updates... 1- Bug loves playing the drums and singing with Elmo. 2- She now has moments of silence that make a mother fearful because this is usually the outcome: 3- Bug and her new chair from G-Pa.  Thank goodness!  Now she's not always trying to climb up on the couch!  Although...now we have to watch her struggle to pick it up and move it around the house.  :/  This can cause her to become quite frustrated. 4-Mommy woke up today at 4:30am and didn't fight it.  She even had time to straighten her hair, eat breakfast, drink coffee, edit photos, start a blog post, and sit on the couch to watch TV.  This could be the start of something good. God Bless, Kat

Riiiight

One time, when my sister was pregnant, she had too many name choices for her soon-to-be baby.  The only logical way to narrow it down to one was to let Bug pick the name.  Riiiight. God Bless, Kat

Have I Told You...(Video Catch Up)

Have I told you... ...that someone discovered her twin in the mirror.  Often times I catch her sneaking into my bedroom to surprise her friend. ...that my daughter is a ham? ...that she LOVES to sleep in like Daddy? She is one cute kid. God Bless, Kat

A Greek wedding, Lo time, and a helper.

This weekend the hubs and I attended one of the most beautiful weddings, for our friends, Renee and Eric.  I forgot my camera (GASP!) so these photos from my lame phone will have to do. The wedding took place at a Greek Orthodox church and from the moment we stepped in, we knew it would be an amazing ceremony and it was!  Congratulations to my sorority sister, Renee.  You deserve this happily ever after.  I love you! We left Bug with Mama and Papa overnight and when we came back to pick her up on Sunday, we heard she had a bad night.  Then I saw Mama.  Bug had broken her.  I've never seen her so tired from one night with one baby.  Honestly, it looked like they were up all night partying.  My mother is the kid whisperer and can tame any child.  How did this happen?!?!  :/  My kid does not make it easy.  Any other volunteers for babysitters?  :/ We also had lots of girl time this weekend with Ninang and Lo...

Awkward

My sister and I played tennis with Julia in high school.  She and my sister both went to USC, and now that we have kids, she is now Tita Julia to Bug and Lo.   Aside from her amazing dancing skills and great sense of humor, Tita Julia is one of the most genuine people I know.  I'm so glad that she is a part of not only our lives, but of Bug and Lo's too!  :)  They are going to LOVE her. What's even better than good friends?  Good friends that are also old friends.  Who else can you laugh about your awkward high school phase with? :)  Trust me, there were plenty of those.   God Bless, Kat

One hour, what?!?!

We had one hour free before picking up Bug from day care today.  It was the "golden hour", before sunset.  This NEVER happens.  So, I made him model for me.  :)  He hated it, but boy is he good lookin'! He looks like he loves it, right? :/ God Bless, Kat

Not. A. Good. Sign

What did I get/buy for our 3 year anniversary? A new Elmo coloring book and crayons...so the hubs and I could take Bug with us on our anniversary dinner. We were hoping we would be able to eat a [full] meal without someone jumping out of her high chair or screaming to get out so she can socialize with everyone in the restaurant. That's right.  We're parents. How did our dinner go?  Not quite as expected...which is why I have no pictures from dinner to show you.  Three quarters of the way through the meal she decided she wanted out.  The coloring book didn't last as long as I had expected because dinner was postponed a little while because Daddy had to work later than expected.  So by the time we got to dinner, it was already her bath time.  :/  (Hey, we're making progress!  She made it more than halfway through the meal!)  After taking her out of her high chair, we trapped her in our booth, in an attempt to finish the rest of our m...

3 year anniversary

Today is our 3 year anniversary.  3 years!   I love this guy more than words can explain and I am truly, truly, truly blessed to have a husband who works hard for his family, tries his hardest in all things, and is the most amazing father to Bug.  I'm not going to lie. Married life is hard.  H-A-R-D.  Adding a baby to it makes it even harder.  However, all things are possible (and worth it) if you have Christ at the center of all you do. 6 years together, 3 of them married and he still makes me weak in the knees. We are so blessed to have so many people in our lives who support us, love us, pray for us, and serve as amazing examples of happily married couples, honest individuals, and hardworking parents.  We find our inspiration and strength in all of you. 3 years down, forever to go! God Bless, Kat

15 month Bug

Happy 15 months to this cutie patootie Bug! Height:  30 1/4 inches Weight:  21 lbs. 5 ounces Mommy and Daddy's biggest challenge so far since birth- mobility.  Honestly.   Every other minute there's a new bruise, bump, and/or scar.  I'm not talking small ones either.  This Bug has pretty much damaged her entire body and face, in an effort to gain independence.  It kills the mother that gave birth to such a perfect little being.  ( Okay, so maybe that's dramatic, but my heart does sink every time I pick her up from school and she has a new battle scar.)   We all remember last week's incident .  As if that wasn't bad enough, this weekend, as that scab was attempting to heal itself, we had our family photo shoot, on a gravel-filled trail, where Bug fell off a toddler chair prop due to all of her excitement.  It truly was a Parental FAIL because we let her do it.  After cleaning the gravel out of her mouth, we not...
