LOUD

Last night was night #2 of sleep training.  After a few bedtime stories and bath time, I put Bug to bed.  She was fussy (and fussy is great compared to the tantrums we've been experiencing as of late), but she went without a fight.  Finally!  She woke up ONCE around 1:30am (I think- or was it 3:30am?) and we noticed her diaper was SO FULL...as though she had chugged down an entire gallon of milk, so we decided to change her in her crib, to avoid actually moving her.  It's not about laziness.  It's about keeping her in her crib.  If you've been lucky enough to change Bug's diaper lately, you'll know that it is no easy task.  Aside from the turning over quickly and crawling away, there is also a ton of screaming involved...a TON.  Being half awake doesn't help, either.  So we "quickly" changed her and she turned right over and went back to bed.  You swear!  She was probably more mad that we changed her than about her actual wet...

Determined

Teething has interrupted the 10-12 hours of sleep we were getting and Bug started waking up 3-4 times a night for the last month.  Seriously, newborn style.  After speaking with the doctor about it, he said in between her teeth coming in, we could sleep train her so that she wouldn't get up to pretend to drink the 4 ounces of formula we made (and waste 3.5 ounces) in the middle of the night.  Supposedly a baby's internal clock is on a 3 day rotation.  So it takes 3 days to get them in a routine.  If you're consistent with something for 3 days, you should be set.  Should be.  (Hopefully.)  I heard from people (the nurse at the doctor's office, the moms at day care, co-workers) that their kids cried for 1-2 hours the first night.  I dreaded this day, especially since Bug had gotten herself on a routine of 10-12 hours of sleep all by herself at 5 months.  (What a tease!)  I loathe the teething process.  I'm 100% (accurate ...

Through Ninang's Eyes

When Daddy and Mommy went to a wedding, Bug hung out with Ninang and Ninong ALL DAY.  THIS is what happened.  (Thank you to Ninang for capturing it all for Mommy!  You know how much she hates to miss out on the photos!) Before we left, Ninang caught Bug watching House Hunters on HGTV.  (Obviously she's ready to get out of our house already!  WAAAAAH!)  In perspective, she's actually quite tiny.  You'd never guess with all the close-ups I take.  Snacking and watching TV.  Spitting. What an awful habit.  If you see her, don't stand too close.  You'll get hit.  I promise.  When we left, they headed for the mall.  :)  Ninang and Bug  They tired her out!  TIRED! The next day we spent Memorial Day out and about doing random things with Ninang and Ninong.  Lunch in a booster seat.  This girl is way too cute!  Family photo #1 By the w...

Memorial Day "Summary"

We had a crazy, busy, and fun Memorial Day weekend! On Friday Da-Da had the day off, so  he got some quality time with Bug before day care.  Before he could turn on the light in Bug's room, she was already talking up a storm and this is how he walked in on her.  (Yeah...standing is fun.) That day, the hubs cleaned the house! Mama came home to a clean bathroom and all the laundry done!  Check out the best hubs...EV-ER in action.  Am I lucky or what?!?!?! That night, Bug and I had an early date with Da-Da at the Olive Garden.  Afterwards, we went and hung out at Starbucks and ran some errands together.  Oh, a life with a baby.  How the phrase "date night" has taken on a whole new meaning. :) In case you were unable to read the previous post, here is a snapshot summary of the  wedding we went to...  A HUGE thank you to Ninang and Ninong for babysitting Bug ALL DAY while we got ready for the wedding and went off ...
