Lady A

A few months ago, the hubs surprised me with some tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert.  We went.  Last night.  Without a baby. I even straightened my hair, put on some makeup, and put the boots on. :)  Date night on a Tuesday night! While on our honeymoon in Maui, we discovered one country station.  It played the same ten songs over and over again. That's where we first discovered Lady A.  What an amazing group and even better live.   Awesome seats.  Totally closer than what this picture makes it seem like. The opening act- Darius Rucker.  You might know him as Hootie...you know, from Hootie and the Blowfish from the 90's.  The Blowfish are still with him in his band (and no longer officially the Blowfish), but he's pretty much known as a "solo" artist.  Way to sacrifice the "band" for the sake of popularity!  Great business move...really...because Hootie and the Blowfish hit a dead end ...

Two Girls...

...who have a lot on their minds... Sheesh. :) God Bless, Kat

Commitment

Last weekend, Bug spent some quality time with Ninong Louie...without screaming her head off and with a bit of laughter.  I kept referring to it as a "good day".  Well, maybe we're going to have a few more of those because this weekend, Ninong Louie came over and Bug didn't scream at all.  They had some quality time together.  Maybe Bug has conquered her first fear. :)  Check out the goodness that is "Bug and Ninong".  Again, she loves her accessories.  (By the way, Mommy is a pro at making headbands now! No more spending $5/headband on Etsy.com!  Mom's doing it all herself!) My daughter's best friend is a rubber ducky.  They are inseparable.  During bath time she's got a death grip on it and after I put her PJ's on, I've got to pry it away from her.  God forbid you should life her arm up.  She'll scream because when you lift her arm to clean her armpits, she lets the duck go.  That's the problem with th...

The sound of a Bug

Oh, the sweet sound of a Bug! She is growing increasingly more talkative and her giggle is now developing into full on laughter.  Did I mention how cute she is?  :P On top of all this laughter, she now knows she is quite entertaining so if she does something and you laugh, she will keep doing it until you can't laugh anymore.  What a ham!  (I wonder who she gets this from?)  Such a smart cookie! God Bless, Kat

Irish or Filipino?

Here are some tidbits of the happenings around the D. household. What can I say?  She loves to wear all of her accessories at the same time.  Such a girl.  Bug helping Mommy run errands after day care.  She sits with her legs up ALL THE TIME. (Not very girly, if you ask me.)  Oh, this was two seconds before I realized she pooped out of the size 2 diapers that day care was still putting on her.  When she moved to size 3 I forgot to bring those sizes to day care.  So in one week we had 3 poop-outs.  Parental FAIL.  Most Fridays I don't cook.  I spend my entire week rushing to cook dinners and on Fridays I don't.  It's my break time and now that it's Lent, we can only have seafood.  "No Meat Fridays" have turned into "Baja Fresh Fish Taco Fridays". :)   McKayla has been craving some attention so while I was organizing things and putting away cards, etc., she plopped her big butt on the lid to the memory ...

Bacon

Last night we had BLT sandwiches for dinner.  YUM.  (You know you're jealous.)  As we all know, bacon makes everything better.  EVERYTHING.  I never knew just how much people loved bacon until last night.  When the hubs came home, he said, "Smells like bacon!"   I responded with a cheery, "Yup...awesome, right?"   He agreed with a nod.   As we were watching TV he leaned over to give me a kiss and I pushed him away and said, "Eeew...I smell like bacon."   He responded, "That's why you smell so good." Wow.  I love bacon, but he must really love bacon. Sometimes when you're married, it's hard to catch that spark that once brought you together.  A bit of advice for you- cook some bacon.  Who knew?!  ::SIGH::  Aaaah, married life.  (Obviously our standards have changed a bit post-Bug. Hahaa.) On another note, Bug has become a regular at Trader Joe's and everyone is beginning to recognize he...

Oh the seventh day [Bug] rested.

We had a long weekend with family and boy, was it fun! Bug with Ate Leilah. :)  Bug and Papa ALWAYS match...minus the food stains from her food.  Leilah, Bug, and Liliana.  <3  On Saturday we drove to San Diego to celebrate my Grandmother's sister's 80th birthday! Bug met my cousin, Sheryl's baby, Grayson for the first time.  He's assessing the situation.  He doesn't seem to like the situation.  Oh good...laughter.  Still good.  Then she touched him.  It was all downhill from there.  Every time he saw Bug, Grayson cried.  Way to go, Bug.   My baby makes the boys cry. Two people never looked so similar.  How does Bug manage to look like everyone in both mine and the hubs' families?  So weird.  Great Grandma Love.  Great Grandpa time...  By the way...thank you to Uncle Scott for the poncho.  It came in very handy on...
