Clearly I've missed a few monthly updates of the Cub. I apologize. We were busy and life has literally taken us for a whirlwind ride. To be really honest, I lost a lot of motivation to write these past few months because I've every time I started to write, all I could think to write about was my grandpa, Papang, how much I've missed him, and the endless tears that came out when I thought of him. Every time I reflected back on the moments with my kids and my family, I seemed to cry, thinking of how much he's missed even in the short 5 months he's been gone. After months of tears and prayers, I feel like I'm officially starting to feel like I'm healing. While I know I may not heal completely, I can function without tears flowing from my eyes every moment of silence.
Cubby has grown quite a bit (to say the least) since my 3 month update. Here is the gentle giant's growth in months 4, 5, 6, and 7.
This weekend, Cubby turned 8 months old! He has really developed a personality of his own and while he is not as loud as his big sister, his laughter and smile are both so infectious it's hard to not be taken away by his happiness. At 8 months, he's wearing anywhere between 12-18 month clothing (closer to 18 months). He's "talking" up a storm thanks to big sister, who is constantly conversing with her little bro. He loves to say, "Dadadadadadada" and is very intentional when he says it. Clearly "Mom" is not going to be his first real word. He is an "Oooo"-er and an "Aaaa"-er and loves cheering people on. Perhaps this has a lot to do with the fact that he has so much practice as big sister's audience of one.
I am in love with watching Cubby develop a real relationship with his big sister, Bug. It's amazing that even though he can only mutter sounds, how much they can communicate with each other. I am looking forward to the day she can actually understand what little bro is trying to say. For now, his coos are enough for her to know he's pleased.
We've got ourselves an eater! He is all about the solids and this month is starting yogurt, eggs, and cheese -- all things big sister LOVES and cannot live without. So far the only food Cubby hasn't loved (but will still eat) are nectarines. He's absolutely loves green beans and carrots!
Life is whizzing by and this kid is growing at an exponential rate. Someone the other day said, "If I had to guess his age, he's well over a year." [Insert jaw dropping emoji face here.]
***6/20/17 UPDATE***
I clearly never posted this blog entry. Now we're a few days from his first birthday and I'm adding his 8, 9, 10, and 11 month photos. I am clearly failing at updates. Cubby is now currently wearing 2-3T clothes. [GASP]

He is such a studly kid.
God Bless,
