Bottle Blessings

If I haven't already said it, thank goodness for bottle feeding.  Now that Bug has been on the bottle, it's allowed for some freedom to roam (you know...leave the house).  Before the bottle, Wyatt and I were so scared to take Bug out, timing everything perfectly- feed her, make sure she's asleep when we put her into the car seat, get to our destination, run in and out, and head back home.  Yup.  It was that quick!  It was incredibly hard to find somewhere sanitary to breastfeed, where I wasn't going to expose myself to the world.  Argh!  Now that Bug is a bit older, we can stick her in the car seat while she's awake and she'll put herself to sleep in the car or just stay awake with no tears or cries in site.  When she's hungry, we whip out the bottle and we don't have to leave.   Two weeks ago, we celebrated Uncle Scott and Daddy's 31st birthday and went to dinner.  I was so proud of Bug.  Not only did she let us have a peacefu...

Just like that!

Sorry for abandoning my blog for awhile, folks.  It's been a really rough week or so.  We've had some new developments with Bug lately and we've been busy (as always!). About a week and a half ago, Bug decided out of the blue that she no longer wanted to take a bottle.  Since about week 3, Daddy's been feeding Bug a bottle at night and at busy times (for example, my sister's wedding), someone else gave her a bottle if Daddy couldn't.  I was not planning on giving her a bottle for awhile since I was still breastfeeding.  Well, at about week 8, Bug decided to reject the bottle.  Just like that!  Wyatt continued to try to give her the bottle at night and she just refused.  I assumed it was just for a few nights.  Well, it wasn't.  Bug knew what she wanted.  As she's gotten bigger, she's also gotten a whole lot smarter.  There's no fooling her, folks!  She knows the difference and she's so stubborn she'll cry it out f...

2 month Bug

Happy 2 months to our Bug! Bug had her 2 month check-up with Dr. Nishibayashi (a.k.a. Dr. Nish) today and she got 5 vaccinations.  I'd name them all, except...well...I can't remember them all.  Whatever they were, 5 were shots and one was oral.  I absolutely hate taking shots myself and to see Bug take them just kills me.  (I know. I'm supposed to be the brave one for Bug, but it's hard!  I'm working on it!)  Today's been a rough day and because of the vaccines, Bug has been even more fussy than usual during the day.  :(  Bug whimpered throughout her entire two hour nap today.  It's sad to see your baby in pain and to not be able to do anything about it.  (That's one of those parent things, right?)  So the only way I could deal with it, was to cry too.  I'm sure I'll get a whole lot better at this bravery stuff (or at least putting up a front in front of Bug)...in time. She's still in a little bit of pain...sore from ...

Ta-ta & Na-na's visit

This week, Wyatt's dad and stepmom (otherwise known as Ta-ta and Na-na) came to meet Bug and celebrate their anniversary with a bit of golfing and a trip to Catalina.  During their short visit, they learned a few key things about Bug: 1-Bug sure can sleep for a long time.  I'm not sure how much they saw her with her eyes open. 2-Bug sure can poop.  (This is not new news to you blog readers.) 3-Bug can get herself worked up when she isn't fed on time. 4-Bug sure has one cute face! We were so lucky to spend this time with Ta-ta and Na-na.  We can't wait to see them for Christmas!  This girl just cannot wake herself up! Finally stretching it out. We even had time to get together with my parents for dinner. After bath time, Na-na experimented with Bug's hairstyle.  Obviously she was mad... ...but once she saw how cool she looked, she calmed down. *Bonus pictures The most Asian this girl has ...
