One year down...

This weekend, Wyatt and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary.  YES, it's already been a year.  It feels pretty unbelievable, I know.  In the midst of our hectic schedules and family in town, we managed to get away for just one night, to San Diego.  One year down, forever to go...

Before check-in, we decided to walk down the street to Petco Park.

Some man insisted we take a picture in front of "Mr. Padre".  So we did.



After dinner at Top Chef contestant, Brian Malarkey's restaurant, Searsucker.  MmmmMmmm...GOOD!  Check it out:  http://www.searsucker.com/

Dessert at the hotel.  Strawberry caramel cheesecake.

Complimentary breakfast because our check-in process was such a mess! :)  Free?  We'll take it!

Quick stop at Target.  :P  Had to take a pic of all the people who attempted to take carts past their limits and abandoned them there.  Believe it or not, but when we left Target, there were double the amount of carts shown below!  INSANE!

Later that night, we went to my parents' house, where we took a bite out of the first layer of our wedding cake.  A piece of advice for ya'.  If your cake frosting was once white and is now pink-ish, it's probably not good anymore (but that's just my opinion!).

My hubby claims that the cake was still good.  I say, "A picture is worth a thousand words" and if this picture is any indication of how good this cake was, then it's a good thing we threw it out!

I can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries with my very best friend (minus the old cake!).

    haha. wyatt wasn't sure if it was good, but wasn't sure if it was bad either...so he just kept eating it. hahaha!

4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 month Cub (9, 10, 11 too)

Clearly I've missed a few monthly updates of the Cub.  I apologize.  We were busy and life has literally taken us for a whirlwind ride.  To be really honest, I lost a lot of motivation to write these past few months because I've every time I started to write, all I could think to write about was my grandpa, Papang, how much I've missed him, and the endless tears that came out when I thought of him.  Every time I reflected back on the moments with my kids and my family, I seemed to cry, thinking of how much he's missed even in the short 5 months he's been gone.  After months of tears and prayers, I feel like I'm officially starting to feel like I'm healing.  While I know I may not heal completely, I can function without tears flowing from my eyes every moment of silence. This morning, Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux on my favorite show, The Golden Girls, passed away. If you know me, you could understand how upset I might be.  (Quote from Blanche:  " There is a fine line between having a good time and being a wanton slut. I know. My toe has been on that line." ) The Golden Girls was, is and will always be my favorite show...EVER. What if...

I was on the phone today with my brother, Kyle, and was telling him about my emotionally charged moment in a parking lot as I dropped off the hubs at work after having lunch with him.  As I drove through the aisle of the parking lot, a parked car quickly backed out of it's spot without looking.  My natural instinct, of course, was to stop, rather than move forward.  Thankfully, however, the car quickly stopped itself from hitting the front passenger side of my car, where the hubs was sitting.  I pulled into a spot to calm myself down.  My heart was racing.  Wyatt turned to me and asked, "Are you okay?"  I just could not find the words to respond.  (Strange, I know.)  I was breathing so heavily and I think he realized I was about to freak out and said, "We're fine.  She didn't hit us."  He was right.  The driver had stopped quickly enough and everyone was safe.  However, I still could not get myself to calm down.  3, 2...
