Goodbye, 2nd trimester! Hello, 3rd!

Happy 27 weeks and 1 day to this baby girl.  Although I haven’t noticed much, apparently I’ve changed A LOT in one week.

Commonly heard phrases of the week from coworkers:

“Hey, I thought I just saw you last week.  You look really pregnant.”
“Hey…didn’t I just see you last week?”  (Look of awe at my belly.)
“Wow, you’re pregnant?  I didn’t even know until this week.”

I don't think I realized how much I've actually grown until Wyatt took this photo last night.  Boy I mean...Girl, is my belly pronounced!

Resting my swollen legs and feet while Daddy takes a really attractive photo of me.

This morning we decided to capture THE belly.  (We'll keep these pics small so no one gets overwhelmed---uh hem...me, every time I see this page of my blog.)

Outrageous.  If you look closely (or not so closely) you might be able to see some stretch marks.  (However, I don't recommend looking that closely.)  I'm not going to lie, stretch marks are not attractive (although I don't know anyone who thinks they are), but every time I see them I can only think of the cute, healthy, little baby growing inside.

Maternity jeans!  Yaaaay!

The new "Casual Friday" until this pregnancy is over.

Daddy wanted to take a picture with Ella too. :P  When the baby-know-it-all emails say it's as though you're carrying a basketball, they weren't kidding!

Last weekend baby Ella received three packages in the mail...

Thank you, Aunt DeeDee for the clothes!

Thank you, Grandma for all the clothes and bibs!

Thank you to my sorority sister, Daria for the booties she made!

We're so lucky to have so many people in our lives that have already embraced baby Ella.  We're now moving into the final trimester.  I've heard it's going to feel like an eternity...but with an amazing little present at the end!

Goodbye, 2nd trimester and hello, 3rd!

God Bless,
Kat

4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 month Cub (9, 10, 11 too)

Clearly I've missed a few monthly updates of the Cub.  I apologize.  We were busy and life has literally taken us for a whirlwind ride.  To be really honest, I lost a lot of motivation to write these past few months because I've every time I started to write, all I could think to write about was my grandpa, Papang, how much I've missed him, and the endless tears that came out when I thought of him.  Every time I reflected back on the moments with my kids and my family, I seemed to cry, thinking of how much he's missed even in the short 5 months he's been gone.  After months of tears and prayers, I feel like I'm officially starting to feel like I'm healing.  While I know I may not heal completely, I can function without tears flowing from my eyes every moment of silence. Cubby has grown quite a bit (to say the least) since my 3 month update.  Here is the gentle giant's growth in months 4, 5, 6, and 7. This weekend, Cubby turned 8...

"Thank you for being a friend..."

[And now, a short introduction with the theme song to the sitcom, The Golden Girls] "Thank you for being a friend, Traveled down the road and back again. Your heart is true your a pal and a confidant. And if you through a party, Invited everyone you ever knew... You would see the biggest gift would be from me, And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend." This morning, Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux on my favorite show, The Golden Girls, passed away. If you know me, you could understand how upset I might be.  (Quote from Blanche:  " There is a fine line between having a good time and being a wanton slut. I know. My toe has been on that line." ) The Golden Girls was, is and will always be my favorite show...EVER. Within the last few years, both Estelle Getty (who played Sophia) and Bea Arthur (who played Dorothy) passed away as well and that in itself was a tragedy; for we all know what an amazing duo they made!    (Quote fro...

What if...

I was on the phone today with my brother, Kyle, and was telling him about my emotionally charged moment in a parking lot as I dropped off the hubs at work after having lunch with him.  As I drove through the aisle of the parking lot, a parked car quickly backed out of it's spot without looking.  My natural instinct, of course, was to stop, rather than move forward.  Thankfully, however, the car quickly stopped itself from hitting the front passenger side of my car, where the hubs was sitting.  I pulled into a spot to calm myself down.  My heart was racing.  Wyatt turned to me and asked, "Are you okay?"  I just could not find the words to respond.  (Strange, I know.)  I was breathing so heavily and I think he realized I was about to freak out and said, "We're fine.  She didn't hit us."  He was right.  The driver had stopped quickly enough and everyone was safe.  However, I still could not get myself to calm down.  3, 2...
