Pumpkin patchin' it

This blog is sooo late.  I've taken a liking to using my dad's SLR camera, so editing photos (or even obtaining them) has been a challenge.  Better late than never, right? In October most families get together, head to a pumpkin patch, choose their pumpkins, take them home, and carve some amazing designs.  This was not my family.  I can only remember two times in my life where my family actually carved pumpkins on Halloween ( and I'm pretty sure one of those memories I made up ).  This year my sister and I planned a trip to the pumpkin patch.  However, instead of taking children like everyone else (because neither of us have any...yet), we took our parents. :) Seriously, THE BEST pumpkins we've ever done. God Bless, Kat

Newly married, now what?

This is kind of a different blog. I'm going to "go Jesus" on you today.  By that I mean, today's blog is one of those that's going to focus on my faith and cheer Jesus on- hence, "Go Jesus!"  Last night, Wyatt and I attended a dinner at the Cathedral (where we got married), with the priest who married us (Fr. Francis), the monsignor (Monsignor Kevin), and 9 other newly married couples.  We were invited by Fr. Francis to join these select couples to form a young married couples group- a fellowship of newly married couples who could share their experiences with one another.  There is already a group for married couples called Couples for Christ, but the issues they deal with seem to be different from the issues newly married couples have to deal with.  So this group is somewhat of a spin-off of Couples for Christ.  It's distinctly for young newly married couples (1-7 years).  I have prayed so long for a group like this- a place where we could...

Never missed a beat...

My cousin, Ann is probably one of the most caring people I know in this world.  She prays for everyone, loves everyone, listens to everyone, and even all the way in the Philippines, is able to care for us emotionally.  After 21 years of being apart, we were finally able to reunite during her short stay in America for a business trip.  I was 4 or 5 years old when I left the Philippines, but it feels like we never even missed a beat.  I'm going to be sad when she leaves in a couple of days. She's pretty amazing... God Bless, Kat

One year down...

This weekend, Wyatt and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary.  YES, it's already been a year.  It feels pretty unbelievable, I know.  In the midst of our hectic schedules and family in town, we managed to get away for just one night, to San Diego.  One year down, forever to go... "...Oh I can't believe I finally found you baby Happy ever after, after all this time Oh there's gonna be some ups and downs but with you to wrap my arms around I'm fine So baby, hold on tight Don't let go Hold onto the love we're making Cause baby when the ground starts shakin You gotta know when you've got a good thing You know you keep on bringin' out the best in me And I need you now even more than the air I breathe You can make me laugh when I wanna cry This will last forever I just know, I know..." ~Lady Antebellum Before check-in, we decided to walk down the street to Petco Park. Love, love, LOVE Downtown San Diego. Some man insisted we take...

I've fallen and I can't get up!

In our apartment there is an L-shaped wheelchair ramp that leads outside the complex.  Every single day of my life I head down this ramp and every single day I manage to slip halfway down the L-shaped ramp.  I've always managed to catch myself and prevent myself from completely falling to the ground...until today.  Today, I had my hands full and although I did not fall on my face, I did land on my right knee... HARD .  I got myself up, examined my knee, shook it off and went to work.  Three hours later and my ankle is in pain, the joint that connects my leg to the rest of my body is seriously suffering, and my back and neck wanna kill me. I've let the water gather on this ramp after the rain without complaining.  I've had over a thousand close calls on this ramp and still have not complained.  I didn't wanna be the tenant who always complains, but now, I'm mad!  After work today, I'm going to march my butt to the office and I'm letting them know...

Baby Addison and the ATL

Last week we flew to Atlanta, Georgia to meet baby Addison in person.  Wyatt and I flew from LAX to Denver, where we were supposed to catch our connecting flight to Atlanta.  It's funny (or not funny) how things work out... When we arrived in Denver, we both received a notification on our cell phones (Thanks a lot, United!) informing us that our connecting flight from Denver to Atlanta had been cancelled and that United had taken it upon themselves to redirect us to Washington, D.C. instead.  Nothing against D.C., but my destination was Atlanta!  After listening to the rest of the notification, we then found out that from D.C., United had conveniently (or not!) put us on another flight, that would arrive in Atlanta at 12am- 6 hours later than our original expected arrival.  (That wasn't an inconvenience or anything.)  When we got to D.C., we had 4 hours to spare, so Wyatt took it upon himself to...learn how to braid my hair? By the time we...
