Thanksgiving 2013

This Thanksgiving there was a whole lot to be thankful for- cousins, siblings, grandparents, parents, great grandparents, and food.  Uncle Kyle, Auntie Catherine and all the kiddos came down from Sacramento and we had a ton of family time.  I should thank everyone in advance who actually picked up my camera to take some pictures.  I was kind of lazy about it and it's exciting to see our very hectic, very loud Thanksgiving, from multiple perspectives.  The other benefit is that I actually made it in the photos.  :)

There's nothing quite like a holiday at your childhood home.
Believe it or not, but I did some cooking this Thanksgiving.  Not the turkey.  NEVER the turkey, but I did supervise a ton.  Ha!  About two years ago, Daddy revealed that he could make some yummy mashed potatoes.  So any holiday that we're assigned to one part of the meal, he's assigned to mashed potatoes.  :)
Everyone did one or two different things, so we had plenty of time to just hang out and no one was stuck in the kitchen cooking all day.  The holidays are about spending time with your family, right?

I carved the first piece of turkey...then quickly handed the knife to Mama.
 Love
Happy birthday to these two!
 Loving her cake!
The following day, after the little ones napped and the rest of the gang went to the movies, we had a special birthday just for Ate Kaycee.
I can't believe 11 years have gone by since this girly was born.  It flew by so quickly!  The following day, before the cousins left, we had a mini Christmas celebration.
Trying on her new outfit from Auntie Catherine!
After only one day of owning this book, Bug has memorized every single phrase.  We go through books pretty quickly.  The other night at bedtime, she requested I read it seven times.  SEVEN.
 Outfit change.
 That's Lo.
 Super cute new PJ's!
The hubs takes the best candid photos...EVER.  So handsome.
Can you all just sit still for one cousin shot?  We are always missing someone.
 There she goes...
My favorite moment.  I love the way Myranda is looking at Buggy.
Some shots of our now 11 year old pre-teen!  Honestly, when I was 11, I was nowhere near as mature, wise, and beautiful as Kaycee.  She is one of the most beautiful people I know inside and out.
Ninang did something we've never done before.  She purchased her Christmas tree a week before Thanksgiving.  So when we visited her, Bug refused to leave.  She insisted that she get a tree.  So, being the guilty parents we were, the next day we hopped on over to the nearest tree lot and purchased a tree.
Ninang, Ninong, and Lo came over for some tree decorating, dinner, and popsicles...
See that potty chart in the back?  That's Novemeber.  2 accidents.  AMAZING!
This is what "hanging out" looks like when you're a parent- trying to make it until bedtime.
 Bath time!
I hope everyone had as fun-filled of a Thanksgiving as we did!  For the first time ever, a long weekend felt long!  I can't wait for Christmas when we get to see G-Pa and Grandma in Oregon!

God Bless,
Kat
