Wyatt and I have been anticipating the time when we would have to put down his old truck and replace it with something less problematic. Don't get me wrong, Wyatt's GMC Sonoma has been good to him for six years, but after recently discovering the smell of leaking gas (and never quite having found the source of the leak), it only fueld (no pun intended) our drive (again, no pun intended) to search for a new car.
We discussed our options: truck or sedan. We knew that whatever car we purchased, it would be in our family for awhile. Well, there was the key word- family. Shoot. We all know that Wyatt is a truck kind of guy- a truck always allowing Wyatt to be independent and never having to rely on anyone to help him move anything. I would not take this away from him, so my only condition on buying a new car was: it better be able to fit a car seat in the back (whether or not this would be a truck or sedan, I did not care.)
When we got to the dealership (shout out to Taylor and his manager, Enrique at Toyota of North Hollywood!), we thought we were just window shopping. Two test drives, a truck trade in, 3 price quotes, and five hours later, we walked away with a 2010 Toyota Camry! Wyatt got sucked into the deal. :) I asked Wyatt, "Are you sure you don't wanna see what else is out there? A truck?" Wyatt (bless his heart) jokingly replied, "I want a truck, but I want a family more."
It was a bummer having to say such a quick goodbye to the GMC and leaving her in the car lot. We took pictures to remember the "good times". :)
And there she is. As Wyatt walked away, he kept turning around to look at her. What a sad moment.
At dinner last night Wyatt said to me, "Babe, I feel bad. I want you to drive this car and I'll drive your's." What a great guy...always thinking of others. Of course, I said "NO WAY". Wyatt deserves this car and so much more. I asked him this morning what he was going to name her. He said, "I think I'll call her 'Red'."
Welcome to the family, Red.
(My attempt at editing a photo. Pretty cool, huh?)
God Bless,
Kat
