Last I had a few surprises.
Surprise #1: Bug went to bed without any milk and way too early...so early I feared she would wake up in the middle of the night.
Surprise #2: The hubs came home from work early. Well, not "early", but normal time for most people and "earlier" than he normally does. Yippeee! Valentine's day and I actually get to spend some quality time with the hubs? Valentine's Day gift- CHECK!
Surprise #3: The hubs cooked a romantic dinner. YES. You read it correctly. For the...oooohhh...second time since we've been together, he cooked a full meal. (The first time was when we first started dating and I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't enjoy it too much.) <---Fail! Now he knows. Let's face it. We just started dating at the time and I wasn't about to shoot down his ego on his first try. It is the effort that counts, after all. Now we're married and we can be honest. Hahaa.
Unlike the first attempt, this meal (in all honesty), was actually fab...and legit. He googled "Valentine's Day dinners"...or something along those lines. How sweet is that?
Here's my man, hard at work in the kitchen...
Deep thought.
He's so quick with pulling together his ingredients!
Whoa! He's on a roll! We've got actual food in the pan!
Chopping up the ingredients for the salad. McKayla was probably walking around the kitchen, wondering why the hubs was in the kitchen and not me. Even she was shocked and had to check it out for herself. OR...perhaps it was the smell of seafood that got her meandering through there.
Final product: Seafood alfredo pasta with a side salad and...wine. :)
I'd say this exhausted chef is well on his way toward competing on Top Chef! Well, perhaps that's a bit much. He's at least well on his way toward cooking 2-3 times a week to give this mommy some relief in the kitchen. That's what you get for showing me you can cook! Hahaa. Perhaps he should have just pretended to not know how to cook. Ha!
SO IN LOVE with this man. I've never known anyone who tries so hard in everything that he does....especially when it comes to thinking of new ways to show me he loves me and appreciates me. What an amazing Valentine's Day gift. I love this guy! And seriously...who wouldn't?!?!?!
God Bless,
Kat

Love you too!
