Week 31 has not been the best week, folks. It feels like my tummy has been stretched to its limits! Can it get any bigger? Well, I'm sure it can, but in the last week, I feel like there is absolutely no elasticity left! It is a true miracle that a baby is inside of me!
What has baby Ella been up to? She has been consistently dancing inside, giving this mom to be no sleep AT ALL. (Again, good practice.) Every time I fall asleep, I wake up to some VERY hard kicks. Ella also seems to be hanging pretty low, which is making sitting pretty tough. I've now moved into the casual and lazy "lean back" position in every chair I sit in and have nowhere to place my hands, but on my tummy, which only leads to a lot of rubbing, which then leads to me poking at Ella, which then leads to more movement. Although, at this point, I'm not sure how much more moving she can do! I kind of feel bad for this baby...I'm sure all she wants to do is stretch out, but mommy's tummy is just not allowing for it.
Okay, now that I'm done complaining, let's keep it in perspective. God's allowed for us to make this little baby and be blessed with all her love and everything she has to offer. Despite all the aches that come with all this stretching, I'm still thankful that this baby is healthy and growing and can't wait to meet her. One day I'm sure I'll miss these can't sleep-keep-stretching pregnant days and all the moving inside the tummy. So every night, I take advantage of this opportunity and lay in bed, watching her kick and move for an hour or more!
I hit week 32 this Thursday, also known as month 8 and I can't wait to see the drastic changes ahead. Wish me luck!
P.S.
HUGE shout-out to Daddy-to-be for massaging this mommy's swollen feet/bear paws and spending a few moments every night rubbing Mommy's tummy and having some chit-chat time with his Ella girl! He is so amazing!
God Bless,
Kat
