2 years, 3 months, and 8 day Bug

Good grief, I'm behind on this 2 year and 7 month update.  We're quickly approaching 2 years and 8 months.  I've been posting this entry because I have no idea where to begin.  So let's just bullet point all the things I think are interesting about Bug lately. She has perfected the art of play dating, which has resulted in a ton of progress when it comes to sharing.  Bug has even surprised me with her ability to take the "high road" when someone takes her toys.  However, she still has her limit, but for the most part, I've noticed a lot of growth and maturity when it comes to sharing.  Perhaps we're missing our window of opportunity to have a second kid. Haha! She is getting so social that even at play dates, she has managed to adopt a fourth grandmother.  Here is G's grandma with ALL the kids at the play date. Dad and I recently celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.  (Go us!)  We went on a date with Bug and Mulan.  :) ...

"Trick-or-treat! Where's my candy please?!?!"

Here are the photos from Halloween, folks!  Bug had a blast!  She and her friends spent almost an entire hour in awe of the whole trick-or-treating thing.  They also spent a good majority of that hour on a sugar high from lollipops- the first time for most of them.  (Hey, don't judge.  Whatever gets them to walk, ask for more candy for their parents, and provides them the energy to sit through dinner during what would normally be their moment of exhaustion before bedtime.)  Bug:   "Trick-or-treat!  Where's my candy please?!?!" Bug didn't even wait for any of her friends (or parents- Who are they?) to move on to the next door.  She is a serious leader.  After asking for candy, we were brave enough to gather to a restaurant- all 17 adults and 11 kids.  SERIOUSLY.  Despite the hesitation, it went pretty smoothly.  However, I'm pretty sure we won't be invited back to the restaurant ever again. ...

Personality

It's the end of October.  I am amazed at how quickly each year goes by.  At the beginning of every year, I dread how little vacation time there is and that the holidays will never arrive.  Then the holidays finally get here and I feel overwhelmed.  It's a lose-lose situation, I tell ya'.  This year has been more even more exciting with Bug because she's able to really interact with people and experience things differently.  She's able to really have fun.   With that being said, Happy Halloween!  Tonight, our little fairy Bug is gathering to our local Downtown area with her school friends for some trick-or-treating and dinner.  I'm excited to see her face when she realizes that after she says, "Trick-or-Treat!" (and according to her, "Where's my candy please?"), she'll actually be receiving candy!  I'm excited to see her dancing down the street in her pink fairy costume, running with friends, giggling, fighting to hold her at...

"Cody, where are you?"

Get ready for an emotional mommy post.  I've been reminiscing about the past again.  :) Each day I'm learning more and more about editing photos and different styles.  I take old photos and I re-edit them to practice.  I am now feeling how bittersweet parenthood really is. This is Bug last December when I first really started practicing my photography. This is Bug now. My heart is aching.  ::sigh::  Parenthood. It should be illegal to look at old photos.  How old is she again?  18?  All this heartache and she's only 2 years old.  I fear for how much I'll yearn for her to need me when she's older.  I have to keep reminding myself that her independence is a good thing and as she gets older, it's not that she won't need me.  She'll just need me for different things and I'm hoping the transition won't kill me.  :P  This girl is keeping me on my toes.  Her words are clear (and loud) and my a...

October updates

October has been VERY busy.  So here are some pictures, accompanied by some short stories, Facebook statuses, and videos about Buggy. As you all know, it was Daddy and Uncle Scott's birthday recently.  We had our annual birthday dinner with just Daddy and Uncle Scott.  Singing happy birthday to Daddy and Uncle Scott...kind of. The following evening, Daddy and Mommy had Auntie Sam babysit and we were off to dinner and a movie!  No love for Auntie Sam.  :( Those are our feet, in reclining chairs and we didn't even fall asleep! Then on Sunday we had some quality time with Lo and Co. :) Other events in October: *The pumpkin patch with good ol' C and his family!*  Thanks to C's baby bro C2, Bug is now searching for her baby brother...under the kitchen table, in the closet, etc.  She loves it, I swear.  Bus driver. *Potty training: It's been fabulous! Someone is entering her 4th week in panties, acciden...
