Arizona Christmas

After 8 1/2 hours on the road (3 1/2 of which were spent trying to get out of L.A. County), we finally made it to Goodyear, Arizona to Wyatt's stepsister, Kristin and her husband, Jason's house.  We had a great 4 1/2 days there to celebrate with everyone. Wyatt's Christmas gift came in this... Yup, Kristin's police officer husband gave her a gun.  :P Grown ups! Took a visit to the University of Phoenix Stadium. A very tired Scottie. We even got to visit Aunt DeeDee! This is the little girl we came home to... 8 1/2 hours to get to Arizona, 4 1/2 hours to get home.  All in all a successful trip. God Bless, Kat

Holiday parties and everyone's in love.

Every year (I think) since we graduated college, my girlfriends and I throw a potluck/holiday party.  This year, Bri volunteered to host it.  I say this a lot, but I'll say it again.  Everyone has been so busy this year (and every year), it's nice to take one night out to just relax and enjoy each other's company.  This year, everyone's been busy adjusting to being married, being overloaded at work/school, or planning a wedding!  I love my girlfriends and as little as I see them, every time we get together, it's like no time has passed. Rhea and Alan Frine and Sean are getting married in October 2011.  Don't they look so in love?  I'm so glad I captured this. Elyse & John Erica and Chris have been married the longest out of all our friends.  They're our not-so-"old married couple". We will be celebrating our New Years Day 2011 at Kimi & Seth's wedding! Eric & Renee...so cute! Unfortunately Wyatt and I didn't take ...

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."

Wyatt and I have graduated from the 3-footer tree on top of our table from last year, to this... Although it still looks like a 3-footer on top of the car, this one actually stands on the ground! Wyatt's stepmom, Mickie gave me this great idea to string popcorn and cranberries.  I had never heard of this before, so I thought I'd give it a go, not realizing how long it would actually take me to make.  (In case you were wondering, for a tree that's not even 5 feet tall, it took 8-9 feet of popcorn and cranberries!  It ended up looking so cute, though.  I was even able to pick up two cardinal ornaments while shopping with Mickie while on our trip to Yreka.  They looked great! Wyatt put up almost every ornament from his childhood on this tree.  Geez!  If I knew he'd do that, we should have gotten a 7-footer!  I let him know that we had a lot more Christmases together and he could save some for another year.  Hahaha.  I didn't need to ...

Childhood memories

I have very few memories of my childhood, but some things just stick.  Below is a chat conversation I had the other day, with a friend I reconnected with (via Facebook, of course!) from elementary school.  Because of the content of this conversation, I have chosen not to mention her name.  :) ME: oh man...i need to tell you something... Friend: go! ME: when we were in 4th grade i think your youngest sister was just born... Friend: yes! ME: and your dad had a truck parked in front of the house (your house) Friend: wow, ur good ME: and we were sitting in the bed of the truck and you told me a piece of information about giving birth that i will never forget and has scarred me for life.. Friend: oh dear, wat was it ? :/ ME: you told me that when women give birth, sometimes they pee or poop on the baby! Friend: hahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahahaha.  omg!  that happened to my mom!  hahahahahaha ME: and so i have always been scared to h...

Mother of Butter!

This is Paula. She LOVES butter. She is the "MOTHER OF BUTTER".  This woman can add butter to anything!  Recently, while searching for some new and improved ways of making chicken soup, I ran across Paula's recipe which consisted of 2 entire sticks of butter!  I was astonished.  This is the only woman in the world who needs 2 sticks of butter to sautee vegetables for chicken soup! God Bless, Kat

Memories

Every once in awhile, you'll find me posting old pictures...old memories... This one is from the first month Wyatt and I dated, the first time he met my ENTIRE family (extended included), at my twin nieces' birthday party. I mean, really...WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? God Bless, Kat

A White Thanksgiving

The day before Thanksgiving, Wyatt and I drove to Sacramento after work, for the first half of our Thanksgiving drive.  We stayed at my brother's house overnight and quickly headed to Medford, OR the next morning.  We spent Thanksgiving with Wyatt's dad, stepmom, Mickie, Heather, Ben and the girls.  (Thank you, Bagley family for the wonderful turkey and stuffing!).  The girls all wanting some love from TaTa. Even Jackson wanted in! Rylee teaching Wyatt and Jackson a thing or two... Woke up the next morning to snow falling! Our poor little Camry was deathly cold! Wyatt has not seen this in a very long time... Dad & Mickie's house The garage... The backyard.... Wyatt's trying to figure out how to put the chains on...apparently we need 'em! What a blessing to be able to make it up north to spend the holidays with Wyatt's family and even more of a blessing we made it home from all that snow!  :)  God Bless, Kat
