GASP

Today is Ash Wednesday.  The beginning of Lent.  I've decided that this year, I should really feel the sacrifice.  So, I've eliminated Facebook and coffee for the next 40 days.  GASP, I know.  How will you all keep up with the never ending updates of Bug?  Well, this blog of course!  I'm hoping to gain some insight through prayer, a little bit of reading, and quality time with my family this Lenten season.  I'll be chronicling all my thoughts in the blog from time to time, so be sure to check back. Here are some videos I took of the monitor, as I listened to Bug talk to herself this weekend.   Turn this one up.  In case you were wondering, she's saying "boom, boom, hooray!" "Dirty."  She may have been speaking to her toy. She is practicing everyone's names and is getting pretty good. "Uncle Scott, Ninang, Ninong, Uncle Kyle, Uncle Kris, Auntie Mary, Uncle Jason, Addison, Callan, Nama, GPa, TaTa, NaNa, Cousins, Ate,...

Lo Time

Lo loves Ate Bug. :) God Bless, Kat

The kid can eat.

This one particular morning- 3/4 of a banana, 1 cup of milk, 5 mini pancakes, 1 scrambled egg = 4 poopy diapers in half and hour.  WOW.  Yeah,  I know you wanted to know that.  How in the heck is this girl only in the 25th percentile weight?!?! She is becoming SO good at feeding herself (and eating a ton!).  No joke, my grocery bill is starting to feel her appetite. This weekend we headed to my Goddaughter, Sophia's 2nd birthday party! Chasing the largest bubble you've ever seen. We came home that night to this.  Someone is obviously asking for attention. Speaking of car seats (we were talking about that, right?)... Someone is officially out of her newborn car seat that we were still using in Daddy's car.  Why buy a second big girl car seat if she still fit in the small one, right?  Anyway, we said goodbye to this red beauty of an infant seat and because Daddy's ...

18 month Bug

a.k.a. A year and a half. There is no such thing as sitting still with this kid. Here are some pics that Daddy took this morning with his phone an emailed to me. Yup.  We're brushing our teeth multiple times a day! :) Yesterday Bug had her 18 month check-up. Before the appointment she was so chipper. height: 31.5 inches (approx./maybe 50th percentile and I think they were being generous)   weight: 22 lbs., 6 oz. (25th percentile- seriously) head: 40-something centimeters (75th percentile)  There are no after photos for a reason. Do any of these percentages make sense together?  Since her 15 month appointment, she has grown 1/4 of an inch and gained almost 1 lb.  Wow.  Does that even constitute as growing?  Regardless of percentages, percentiles, inches, centimeters, and pounds, she is gorgeous and smart!  Is it a coincidence that her largest percentile is her head?  There's a lot going on in the...

Miss Diva

Last week we celebrated the one year anniversary of Bug's baptism.     Amazing.  It's been an entire year.  It feels like yesterday, but it also feels so long ago.  So many things have changed, but one that really hasn't, is the growing amount of love and support that we have from our friends and family.  We find so much support in those around us, that is makes raising a kid (not easy), but easi-ER.  :)  God has been so good to us in providing us with such amazing people to help raise our little Buggy.  It does take a village after all.  One year since Bug has been baptized and she has grown so much already.  She has made her presence known at mass on Sundays, yelling a BIG, "AMEEEN!" with the congregation, as well as socializing up and down the aisle, with Daddy right behind her, chasing her.  (We're still working on it.)  She has become a part of our meal time prayers, consciously putting down her food w...
