Dim Sum and some half Asians.

This weekend we got to spend some time with the hubs' cousins, aunts, and uncle.  We went to Chinatown for a little dim sum and someone was very good (for the most part).  Auntie Colleen is Nama's sister.  She put on her glasses so she could look more like Nama and almost fooled Buggy.  For a second she thought her Nama was there!  Uncle Greg was home from college so we had to see him!  We can't wait to see him in June when he comes for the summer!  Half Asian babies. We love spending time with this family and will definitely be seeing them more often this year!  :) God Bless, Kat

Play dates rock.

Today was the first weekend we haven't had to rush out of the house since before Thanksgiving and we spent it at two play dates!  It was awesome.  So awesome that I had to post the pics...now. :) Play date #1 was with Auntie Amanda, Uncle Clay, and Duke!  We headed for some coffee and the park!  Bug did not want to say goodbye to her Auntie Amanda. She had no issues saying goodbye to Uncle Clay.  Hahaa. After an hour nap, we met up with baby "Nate-ahn" and his mommy.  Don't be fooled by his height.  Baby N is only a couple weeks younger than Ella.  Developmentally, they make great play buddies.  :)  Because baby N and Bug are so close in age, his mommy and I were pregnant at the same time.  Not only did we have our babies so close together, but they both managed to have similar personalities.  Yes.  Baby N's mommy is one of the few people who can understand how Bug can be and the difficulties that co...

Big blessing, tiny body.

I always say that I feel like I am my best self when Bug is around.  Why?  Probably because I know she is more like me than I want to admit and I want to set a good example for her.  I know that some of my attributes might not be all that great and those attributes are not the ones I want to shine when she's around.  I know some traits are inherent and others are learned.  And I sure don't want her to learn those things from me (whatever they may be).  So, I try.  Really hard.  Every single second I'm around her.  Some days I fail (miserably) and some days I do pretty well at setting a good example for her.  At first I thought I was just riding the new baby wave with all this example setting, but after almost year and a half with Bug in our lives, I can say that she has and is still making me a better person every day.  What a big blessing in a tiny body!  She is my constant reminder to be at my best (or to at least try)....

That's a first.

Before New Years Eve, Uncle Scott spent some quality time with Bug! Our holiday break was BUSY, but fun, filled with lots of Ninang, Ninong, and Lo time! We don't normally get a chance to have breakfast as a family, but this weekend, we found some time! How cute is this Bug? Watching Bug color can be a chore.  She sure moves the book (and herself!) around a lot while doing it! Daddy had to work on NYE, so Bug and Mommy had some alone time. First stop, Starbuck!  (Duh!)  While at Starbucks Bug found a friend and in an instant ditched Mommy.  Ditched by my own date.  However, she did leave behind replacements- "Guck" and Minnie. Since I wanted Bug to be able to make it through the night, I made sure she had multiple naps on New Years Eve.  So, we spent a ton of time in the car.   When Daddy came home, we headed to Mama and Papa's house to have what I now refer to as a "parent party".  You ...
