Then there were two...

I've officially been kicked off the couch by my two new bosses.  LAME.

McKayla

My girlfriend has been trying to adopt a dog for awhile now and it seemed that when she was so close to sealing the deal, it always fell through.  During the course of her adoption process, she posted links on Facebook to the adoption website.  Although I wasn't planning on adopting, I decided to just browse.  Through the website, I found the Lange Foundation in West L.A.  On their website, I found a link to the cutest little cat I have ever seen.  McKala (now McKayla)!  She is half Siamese, half American shorthair and 5 years old.  We decided not to change her name because she actually answers to it!  She's a witty little (chub-a-dub) cat.  So here's what happened... Yesterday, we went to the adoption agency just to see her and she wouldn't even give us the time of day.  We browsed around for a couple hours and still, she blew us off. We were so sad, but decided to adopt her anyway.  I do not know why we would want to adopt a c...
170 days ago today, I married this guy... (Although, it sure feels like it's been over 1,000.) Wyatt and I always talk about how long we've been together.  This coming July 1st, we will have been together for 4 years.  That's it!?!?   4 years!?!  It feels like we can't even remember not being in each other's lives. I'm so thankful for this guy- probably the only person who can handle how talkative I can get when I'm excited (or not excited), how stubborn I can be when I try to fulfill my desire to control anything and everything around me and how sometimes frighteningly quiet I can become when I'm angry or sad. (Oh, did I mention that all of this can happen within a ten minute period?  What a saint!) When I wake up everyday, I'm still so amazed by this guy and feel even more blessed to call him my husband.  (Doesn't that still sound so foreign?!??!) God Bless, Kat

On Sunday, my dad got a hold of a camera...

...and he insisted on taking photos of us. Most Sundays we spend at my parents' house in Stevenson Ranch.  This past Sunday, we rented a movie (Precious). After waking up from a nap on the couch, my dad insisted he practice his camera skills on us.  So, we had what you can call our second engagement session in my parents' backyard.  Enjoy! God Bless, Kat

Viva Las Vegas

This last weekend, Wyatt and I went to Las Vegas with a couple of our friends.  It was our first trip to Vegas as a couple and we quickly realized that we are not as young we used to be.  We flew to Vegas on Friday morning and checked into the Palazzo Hotel (highly recommended).  After grabbing a bite to eat and playing (or learning how to play, for me) some craps, we were exhausted!   By dinner, we were so tired!  We've both been to Vegas with friends when we were in college and it seemed easier to stay up all night in those days.  I guess it's all a part of growing up.  Hahaa.  Below are some pics we took, all before 1am, since we couldn't even stay up any later than that. :) The entry to our amazing room, bathroom on the right Left side of the bathroom Left side of the bathroom Entry to the bedroom/ living area Wyatt in the living area Our ridiculously amazing view from the 34th floor ...

Rite of Christian Initiation

As many of you know, Wyatt has been going through the Rite of Christian Initiation and joined the RCIA group, in hopes of converting to Catholicism. Every Wednesday and Sundays after church the RCIA group meets to do Bible Study and to learn about the practices and beliefs of the Catholic church.  After this Easter, Wyatt will finally go through his Sacraments of Communion and Confirmation in the Church.  We are both so excited and feel really blessed to have been able to grow in our faith together by attending these classes.  A couple weeks ago, Wyatt, along with hundreds of RCIA members from Catholic churches across southern California gathered at the Cathedral for their final blessing before their Communion and Confirmation, for a blessing from the Bishop.  It was a wonderful sight to see so many people who have found their faith, all gathered in the room.  The Holy Spirit was definitely present that day and for those of us who are already Catholic and ...

Babies, babies and more babies

If you know me, you know I LOVE KIDS.  When I see kids, I just light up. The feeling of seeing a kid smile and laugh is better than any present you could ask for. You can ask Wyatt and he'll be the first to tell you that my heart melts for these little people. Despite my love of children, I am realistic and realize that Wyatt and I need some time as a couple before we bring in another person into our little family.  With that being said, in the last few months we've been married, I feel like everyone I see and/or know is pregnant.  I'm not talking "Guess what?  I'm pregnant-into-my-first-trimester pregnant".  I'm talking full-blown-gotta-get-this-baby-out-of-me pregnant.  Every corner I turn, another pregnant woman walks by.  (Sidenote:  I think pregnant women are the cutest people ever!)  Do ya' think G-O-D is trying to tell me something?  Hahaa. I'm sure when Wyatt and I plan for a family of our own, it'll be the best reward t...
