Is this what happens?

Since Wyatt and I have moved in together, I've been wanting a "valet" to hang near the front door- a place to hang keys, etc.  I found one at target which was cheap and pretty generic looking.  I found THE ONE at Cost Plus World Market.  The only issue- way over my budget.  Well, technically it wasn't out of my budget and the hubby said if I really wanted it, I could have it.  Being a new independent-out-on-my-own (kind of) woman, I opted not to purchase it.  I opted not to purchase it 5 times- everytime I went into Cost Plus, I'd just sigh and stare at it. On Saturday night, I was in the shower getting ready for my early bday dinner with some friends.  While I was in the shower, I heard the front door slam 4 times.  When I got out, I asked Wyatt if he stepped out of the apartment and he said, "No, why?"  Puzzled, I continued getting ready.  When I walked into the living room, I could see Wyatt's reflection from my peripheral vision....

Cooking trials

Being a newlywed has put my cooking skills to the test.  Now, if you ask my family, they'll tell you I've never cooked a day in my life.  I'm an awesome "assistant/sous chef".  :)  In reality, everyone in my family is an amazing cook- from my mom to my sister and even both my brothers.  Sooooo...why would I eat my food when I can eat their's?!?!?!  I'm not crazy!  Before I got married, I'm sure my family feared for Wyatt's future food adventures.  I've learned to cook 3 different Filipino dishes while I was growing up and can only cook them for a family of 6. In the beginning I think Wyatt might have enjoyed this, but when one dish lasted for several meals, I think he got bored.  One chicken adobo dish lasted for both our dinners and the next day's lunch AND dinner.  I'm still learning to cook for 2 people and have gotten better. Another challenge for me is cooking American food.  Filipino food always requires rice an...

Moving

Most of you probably know that Wyatt and I recently moved from Wyatt's bachelor pad in Glendale to an apartment in Burbank.  Hopefully we'll stay in this apartment for awhile, while we save for a house.  (Cross your fingers!)  The one thing I learned from moving:  we have A LOT of stuff.  How two people can accumulate so much, I do not know.  I thought moving would be the best time to start throwing things out.  I was wrong.  I have lots of clothes and Wyatt has lots of random things.  Those, along with all our new wedding gifts, were packed into as many boxes as possible and those boxes made multiple trips from Glendale to Burbank in a period of one week.  Below are pictures from our moving process, the majority of which were taken at the Glendale apartment, on the day of the BIG Saturday move.  :)  Unfortunately for us, the Saturday move was the second day of pouring rain for the week. :(  However, God was on o...

The hubs, officially a PE

If you didn't already know, the hubs passed the last remaining section of his PE exam.  No, he is not a PE teacher!  (Lame joke, I know.)  He is now a Professional Engineer !  The test consists of three sections:  8 hour general, seismic, and specialty (construction, transportation, structural).  I can't even remember when Wyatt started studying for this exam, but I can definitely say it was at least 2 years ago.  He made a lot of sacrifices.  For awhile he never went anywhere without his reference books, a pencil, eraser, and a folder of work.  Now that he's finally done with the entire exam, he doesn't even know what to do with himself!  He is such a hard worker and I am so proud of him.  This is going to open up some very new and exciting doors for him in his career.  Needless to say, this test was pretty grueling and this "PE" title is well deserved. Here is the PE himself, with his results letter. God Bless, ...
